Water Connects People

Empowering youth leaders in Ireland and Austria to drive water-centered climate action

27+28 May:‭ ‬in-person training in Austria
15 Oct ‬2026: conference in Ireland

_________

How can we reconnect young people with water as a vital source of wellbeing, resilience, and climate awareness? What role can youth workers play in fostering this connection? And how can practical, nature-based experiences help young people engage meaningfully with climate action?

This first WCP cohort brings together youth workers and youth leaders from Austria and Ireland for an immersive learning journey. Participants receive a hands-on training based on the WiseWater Academy methodology, exploring the stories and roles of water in our local and global systems. Together, we translate these insights into practice through multisensory activities, movement, and nature connection, and adapt them to the realities of youth work in each country.

_________

The training is co-created and hosted by WiseWater Academy (Ireland), naau e.U. (Austria) and Foróige – The National Youth Development Organisation (Ireland), and funded by Erasmus+.

Driven by purpose. Connected to the ocean.

Nathalie’s long-term vision is to dedicate more of her work to ocean-related projects and the regeneration of this vital ecosystem. Her practice is a continuous exploration of how collective action, narrative shifts and design can contribute to repairing our relationship with the living world. “As my practice expands internationally, I am thrilled to collaborate with WiseWater Academy and Foróige on the Water Connects People project—an initiative that aligns closely with my mission and values.”
