Young Futures

Empowering youth workers to help young people navigate uncertainty and shape their futures

October 2026 – Spring 2027: pilot trainings and Futures Literacy Labs in Austria, Germany, Poland, and Sweden

project website: https://young-futures.eu/at

_________

How can we support young people in navigating an increasingly uncertain world? How can youth workers foster confidence, agency, and future-oriented thinking? And what tools can help young people move from feeling overwhelmed by change to actively shaping their own futures?

Young Futures brings together Futures Literacy practitioners, educators, and youth organisations from Austria, Germany, Poland, and Sweden to make Futures Literacy more accessible in youth work. Through a series of trainings, pilot workshops, and co-creation processes, youth workers gain practical methods to engage young people in exploring possible futures, questioning assumptions, and developing the confidence to take meaningful action.

Participants are introduced to Futures Literacy and the methodology of Futures Literacy Laboratories, adapting these approaches to the realities of youth work and the needs of their communities. Together, we develop and test new formats, contribute to a practical toolkit, and strengthen the capacity of youth organisations to support young people in times of uncertainty.
